Australian fire fighter shares his water with surviving koala

While it is tragic that between 230-300 people might have lost their lives in the Victorian bushfires, it is also sad that there is next to nothing in terms of press reports about the pain, stress and devastation wildlife experienced during this catastrophe. I was very glad therefore tonite when, while visiting friends of ours, we were shown this little photo of a most likely exhausted fire fighter sharing his water with a probably highly stressed and frightened little koala. See the clip below for whole action.

“It was amazing, he turned around, sat on his bum and sort of looked at me with (a look) like, put me out of my misery,” firefighter David Tree said. “I yelled out for a bottle of water. I unscrewed the bottle, tipped it up on his lips and he just took it naturally.
