An old Clarke and Dawe video

Normally I’m no fan of Clarke and Dawe; I consider their skits on politicians as just too light-weight. This one though is really funny. The Labor senator questioned here, Collins (he died in 2007) was the minister for shipping at the time but apparently never gave an interview on the incident. The video itself is a hoax insofar as it pretends to show a real interview taking place rather than being identified as what it was: a comedy skit.

The shipping accident itself did take place; it involved the 97,000 tonne Greek flag tanker Kirki losing its bow in heavy weather off the Western Australian coast in 1991, spilling some 17,280 tonnes of light crude in the process.
